Listed below are a few websites to help nursing black mothers with their breastfeeding journey:
Free To Breastfeed: Voices of Black Mothers: In2011, this website launched an online campaign, “Brown Mamas Breastfeed,” to promote the visibility of African-American women who breastfeed and their stories.
Ms. Wrights Way: The Self Proclaimed bad ass breast feeder also promotes attachment parenting, yoga and pole dancing. You go girl!
Black Mothers Breastfeeding Association (BMBFA): This non-profit organization’s mission is to reduce racial inequities in breastfeeding support for African Americans by building foundational networks of support, and strengthening systems to overcome barriers to breastfeeding success.
ROSE (Reaching Our Sisters Everywhere) : A member network that addresses disparities among people of color nationwide through training, education, advocacy, and support.
Black Women Do Breastfeed: The blogsite exists primarily to make visible those black women who do breastfeed and share their stories as well to support, encourage and inspire other women who want to breastfeed their children.
