Just a few more weeks until Orlando’s deal season is over, so why not enjoy some of this years newest attractions at discounted rates!

Visiting Orlando, Florida is already an attraction within itself, but of course you have to get up to speed on the various amenities that the Orlando area has to offer.

For Instance, Universal Orlando Resort is one of many theme parks that has added new thrills for the whole family to enjoy. Whether it’s the new Despicable Me Minion Mayhem at Universal Studios or the improved Adventures of Spiderman animation show, you are able to be a part of one unforgettable 3-D experience.

Continuing with the film theme, you can enjoy Universal’s Cinematic Spectacular, which celebrates 100 years of Universal’s iconic movie memories. With this event, you can add an “Spectacular Dining Experience” at Lombard’s Seafood Grille, where you can choose from an array of entrees including fresh seafood, pasta and more. After the exceptional cuisine, you’ll have access to an exclusive viewing area for the nighttime show. Just an added notation, reservations are required.

You know what’s the greatest thing about being in Orlando this time of year? Getting the last wear out of that expensive bikini you bought in the beginning of summer.

Blastaway Beach is the newest attraction to Wet ‘n Wild watermark. It’s located minutes from the Universal Orlando Resort and gives you more multi-person rides than any other waterpark in the area. It features 15 slides, 160 soakers, water jets, cannons and waterfalls. Plus there’s a 60-foot sandcastle.

With this summer’s heat wave, I was sold immediately!

Adding to the water excitement, earlier this year, new attractions like Freshwater Oasis and Turtletrek, were added to Seaworld Orlando’s roster for the whole family to get educated while enjoying some well needed relaxation. Opening at Discovery Cove this past Spring, the family will be able to enjoy encounters with animals while aiming to “unlock discoveries that may be life changing”. This limited admission and all- inclusive tropical resort will create plenty of meaningful memories and a possible conservationist (crosses-fingers).

Keeping the children’s minds in school-mode is always important, so if you want to balance the theme-park excitement with some educational entertainment, Orlando has a wide variety of museums and other events the family can enjoy for absolutely free! From the Zora Neale Hurston National Museum of Fine arts, where you can learn about the author’s creative works, to camping out and roasting marshmallows with Disney’s characters Chip n’ Dale at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort.

With these events, getting back into routine for school after an end of the summer getaway won’t be disastrous after all!

You can find more adventurous attractions at VisitOrlando.com/deals. It provides you with all the information about the best discounts for new rides and thrills. Plus there’s additional deals for shopping, dining and more.

Don’t forget Orlando’s deal season ends September 30th. Don’t miss out, you may regret it!

The fall is approaching fast and my 25th birthday is right around the corner. I am planning a trip to Orlando to get away from this cold front I am currently enduring. I have to admit I am still very much a big kid and I can’t wait to visit all the amusement parks, especially Animal Kingdom. Of all the Disney World parks, that was my favorite one.

I wonder if they still have the Bug’s Life tree?

The last time I was in orlando, Fl. I was ten years old and my family and I had the opportunity to visit Disney World (all the theme parks) for free because at the time my great-uncle worked for ABC. We stayed at Orange Lake country club and resort in Kissimmee, which was in a distant mile radius from everything. Plus, I was able to witness the launching of a space shuttle.

It’s been almost fifteen years since that memorable experience and I still reminisce those fun times.

This time around, I have to make it to Universal Studios and get on the Harry Potter ride because I am such a geek when it comes to the epic series and I am pretty sure the Adventures of Spiderman show is unforgettable as well!!!

I can’t wait until my vacay!

I had soooooo much fun while in Orlando. With all the new attractions, shopping, nightlife and food options available for discounted prices is heaven, especially during this economic crisis!

The only downfall is I had to return home to rain and work! Oh how I miss the closest thing to paradise (on the East Coast)
