Tonya Lewis Lee is a force to be reckoned with. Tonya is a national best-selling author, award-winning TV producer and the face of a national infant mortality campaign, “A Healthy Baby Begins with You,” sponsored by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Her and her husband, Spike Lee, recently released their new children's book, Giant Steps to Change the World--an inspirational book on conquering obstacles and overcoming odds. 

And,the mother of two teenagers is also currently at work on two new books. How does this history maker do it? We asked Tony Lewis Lee 5 questions about she makes herstory happen.

MM: What three words best describe you?

Lewis Lee: Disciplined, optimistic, thirsty(for knowledge)

MM: How do you get motivated and inspired as an entrepreneur?

Lewis Lee: Just knowing my work may have a positive impact on someone is all the inspiration I need.

MM: What's the most important life lesson you've learned thus far?

Lewis Lee: Patience and never giving up.

MM: Tell us about a woman in history that you would love to meet and why.

Lewis Lee: I would love to meet Cleopatra to learn how she managed her power and looked so good doing it.
